Sleeping in Weird Places
Thursday, February 04, 2010
So this is Mommy talking. I caught Fox the other day sleeping the cutest way. I was working on websites online and the kids were watching a movie. I swear, I wish I had the camera but Zach had taken it to work with him, I can't describe it well enough for you to know how cute it really was. So the longboard was in Zach's office and he was sitting with his legs under it and his head leaned over it watching the tv in the other room. I thought cute he's watching tv but still wants to be in here with me. Then I looked closer cause he was still a long time and he was passed out asleep bent in half over the longboard. To make it that much cuter he had his new light up cowboy boots on his hands. I didn't want to move him cause he was so cute but figured he'd be more comfortable in bed and put him in the loft. Sweet lil boy. So Cute!
A Little Update on My Life
Thursday, February 04, 2010
Well, after coming home from the trip life has been easier. I love having our small house so I can see everyone is not far away. I don't have to scream for anything because they are right there, I get that now. Mommy and Daddy appreciate that. I do still scream at other peoples houses, they don't like it I notice, but I am upset. I'm learning more words and how to use them. We had the Tupou boys, their Dad Paul, and Kalani over for snowboarding. Joie stayed in the house so I got them all to myself. Kalani played with me most of the time. Mommy went to take our picture and was shocked when I said "Cheese!" I said it clearly and out of the blue. I liked the reaction I got so I said it all day that day and still do.
Some things Mommy has forced me to say. Like the word 'Please'. Whenever she had treats out she would tell me to say 'Please'. Joie would say "Pretty please!" and Mommy would give her a treat but I didn't say anything so I didn't get anything. I quickly learned to say the word 'Please'. Now I can point to something I want and say that instead of screaming and I actually get what I want more often.
I shocked Mommy one day when I pointed to the snack cupboard and said "Pretty Please!" Mommy was so excited she gave me lots of treats. I like this talking thing. I've been trying all sorts of new words. I can say Dada but I say it Da-da with a musical tune most of the time. I say dog, ball, Mommy, dance, boot, glove, I say ow when I get hurt and I shake my head no instead of saying it. Mommy loves that. I say a bunch of other random sentances but Mommy says I slur them together so if you're not really listening you don't understand it. She always understand me and thinks I'm so cute. Daddy understands me most of the time but does always think I am cute, so does Joie.
I'm learning my alphabet sounds with Joie. I know most of the sounds but not the letters. I try to sing along with the songs they sing. I like to hop up and down to the numbers when Mommy does number cards. 'Do as I'm doing' is alot of fun, I like those kind of games like 'ring around the rosie' and 'once there was a snowman'. Dancing is my favorite. Stories are fun too. Mommy and Daddy will read to me and point out things and then ask me to. Most of the time and can pick out the duck, bear, bird, bunny, or bug in a book. I can point out my facial features etc too. I know alot but am working on saying it. Sometimes I dont say things I know how to say when asked to be spiteful. Mommy says thats something I need to get over.
I'm a pretty good sleeper with one hour nap a day and twelve hours at night but I do climb into bed with Mommy halfway through the night. She hates that. I just want to cuddle cause I love her but she doesn't like me trying to sleep ontop of her or cuddle that close when she wants sleep too. Daddy will do it for me and cuddle with me when Mommy gets upset and moves to the couch. I love my Daddy so much. He is my favorite right now. I point outside when he's at work and say"Mama! Dada?" She tells me he isn't there but I keep looking.
I love playing outside with Daddy and help him shovel. I love snow and playing and running in it. I love snowballs and sledding. Alaska is a fun place to live and it's good to be home again.
My Holiday Adventures South

We went on a boat and then an airplane down south to see more family. The views were cool and I wanted to explore and see and touch everything but Mommy wouldn't let me and that made me very upset. I screamed alot and she put me up on the deck in the cold with her , Daddy, and Joie for a while. A long while. Then I slept inside because it was late. I slept on the plane most of the time too, when I wasn't screaming to explore.
Traveling got me all mixed up but after I settled in I had a really fun day with Auntie Molly, Joie, Travis, James and Uncle Frank while Mommy and Daddy went to the Temple. I clung to Auntie Molly alot because things scared me and I was still adjusting. Then Mommy and Daddy took us on a long drive to Canada.
We spent 3 days in Canada and everything was so fast and busy. I was tired all the time. The food was good and I did get to do fun things like go for walks, see new things and places, make cookies with Nana, play with animals like lil dogs and ferrets and try new foods in new places too. I got to play with different people too. I played with my great grandma, I love her, and my Nana and Papa and Aunts and Uncles and friends! We had alot of good times and did fun things. We got to hang stockings, which I didn't understand, I wanted to wear them like Uncle Gary said. Then the next morning we got to take them down and open treats from them! It wasn't so bad. We got presents too! I loved my animal set. I'd make them roar and eat eachother. I play with all my new toys and love them all now. We had lots of fun in Canada.
We drove the long drive back with Uncle Gary and then went to Auntie Molly's house again. I loved the stairs and tried to go up and down them but I fell once. Mommy was so stressed out by that. It was fun to play with Jamie and Travis as long as they weren't beating on me. I'm learning to hold my own, I can work a stick and say bang bang like a gun. Mommy and Daddy hope I learn later that we only shoot certain animals and not people. We spent alot of time with Nana and Papa at Daddy's parents house with Uncle Chester too. I played with Jamie and Travis alot and we had alot of fun. I even got used to the big doggy Star. Mommy and Daddy noticed I screamed a lil less and started using words more. Probably because no one else knew what my screaming meant. Joie, Mommy and Daddy know.
I was eating oranges in a corner and Mommy came to see what I was doing. She said what are you eating Fox and I said Oranges! and showed her my messy oranges hands. She was so proud of me she didn't even get mad! She thought it was so cute! Funny, I'll remember that for sure. I can talk I just choose when to use it.
I loosened up and started getting back on a schedule. Mommy and Daddy left me alot to go do things and I screamed less when they were gone becuase no one knew what my screaming meant and didn't wanna hear it. Nana said I screamed less when Joie wasn't around too. It's true cause then more people paid attention to me. It's hard being the second sibling, I don't get taught much or listened too enough. They wonder why I don't talk...
Christmas we did the presents thing again. No stockings this time just the goods. I like the light saber things and my new light up cowboy boots. It was fun, a lil busy but fun. We went to a big party and saw alot of strange people and Santa Claus. He was pretty scary too. I got tired again and a lil upset. Christmas day was the best with the presents I think and yummy food and playing with cousins and Joie.
We went for a lot of walks in Wshington and there was no snow! I got to pick up rocks and sticks and all sorts of fun stuff. There was this lil puppy that chased me around. That was scary but I still had alot of fun. There was rain and puddles and leaves and I even rode on Papa's motorcycle with Joie! We had alot of fun on our trip.
I was soon time to go home and we left really early in the morning to the airport with Papa. We spent 2 hours there waiting and Mommy walked around with Joie and me a lil bit but also tried to make me sit alot. The I had to sit on the airplane! We were stuck in Ketchikan for 2 more hours and Mommy did let me run up and down the isle for a while but got sick of that pretty quick and I had to stay in the seat again! She finally got me out to the play place in the airport for about 20 min before we had to board the plane for take off. Planes are ok.
We played in some nice peoples home in Juneau but Mommy wouldn't let me touch anything and they had a big scary dog too. It was good to go to sleep, but then we were up at 3am again to drive to the ferry, which was late by 7 hours!! So we slept in the car and drove around till we got on the boat. It was more fun this time but I was still tired and Mommy hated all my screaming. We were all glad to be home.
